Hello Elder Dion Munk
My name is Irida Kocani and Im from Albania. Im currently studying at BYU Idaho. Actually, a couple of month ago I met one of your friend over here. Her name is Candace.
Any way, I wanted to write you about your question, about the Albanian food. Have you ever had Greek food before? Is almost like it. Is a little like the Italian food also. We use a lot of vegetables, and meat. We cook pasta and other normal stuff. Dont you worry we eat normal things, no cat or dogs : ) Just kidding. For really is good food. You will like it.
Well, have a good time in Albania. If you have any other question feel free to write me. I served a mission and I know how it is to serve somewhere so different from where you come from. Have fun!
Irida

What's the food like there? I havn't the slightest idea and have found very little about it. I'd appreciate Anything anyone has to say about it! Thanks!

JONES, WHERE DID YOU GO MAN. I WANT TO SEE WHAT THE LATEST IS WITH YOU. Anyway, no real news from here, I was just looking around. I hope to make the BYU Albanian basketball team this year so long as Chambers does not call us the "Prairie Dogs." We did not do so well last year.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to chime in. Jared sorry I couldn't make it to the wedding. I've already used all my vacation this year. I was in Utah around June or July and bumped into Bevan Weed. Always nice to see someone from the mission. Funny thing was that my wife was the one who spotted him and recognized him from my mission pictures. All is well here in California. Heidi and I are working on our house. I still work for UPS. And Schwarztenegger will probably be our govenor. Well, that's all. Love ya all tons!

Alright guys!
Good news!
Yesterday was held the first meeting of the BYU Albanian Club, and we are trying to get a hold of all people interested in Albania that live in the Provo/SLC area, so they can get involved and participate in the club activities. If anyone has the email addresses of Albania Mission RMs, members, or anyone that might be interested in the club please email us at byualbanianclub@yahoo.com, we are going to have two activities in February.
We are very glad to expand the club.

Hey guys,
I am going to Albania this next year on a Fulbright grant. I'm taking my whole family, wife and three boys. It's been 6 years since I've been back so I'm wondering if you recently returmed missionaries can answer a few questions.
First of all, do you know the mission phone, fax or email?
How much will I expect to pay for an apartment, dy ose tre dhome e guzhin?
How much are monthly phone and util bills?
What is the living situation like, do the lights still fiken, is water still sporatic?
Is there access to computers and the net? Do you know anyone over there who has a laptop, can you buy laptops?
As far as food and water goes, is it pretty safe/reasonable?
Do any of you have a recent 4th branch directory and know Pavlina Kristo's address?
Anything else you want to tell me about ole Sqiperi?
Thanks dhe te takofshim ne Shqiperine e lire!

Hi all! My name is Charity. I have a bit of a problem. My advisor, who was supposed to go with me to Albania to do research, left without me and while I can get there by myself, I was wondering if there were member you might know over there who would be willing to provide any of the following assistance: a place to stay, help with translation, a field assistant, transportation. I am more than willing to pay for their services, I just need to get everything in place so I know what I am doing once I get to Albania. Thanks so much for your assistance.
God Bless You All!
Charity

This is entitled, "A neat story involving my mission to Alb and a coincidence that occured last night." What's it about, ye may ask... Allow me to illuminate.
So, in the summer of '00, I was serving in the Jolly old 4th Branch. And The Gherigs, a couple, were serving in the 1st. So their Grandson had been touring Europe and he had broken off with his friends after his last stop and come to Albania alone to visit his Grandma and Grandpappy's mission. On preparation day, we all gathered at the Taj Mahal and played "Gadianton Robbers" (mafia). We had a good time, yada yada yada.
So, last night, I'm sitting in IHOP at 11:07 with all of the cast members (all of the cool ones, anyway) after our play got out. And one of the girls says, "We have to leave room for my friend who might be coming." And he does. Looks vaguely familiar. Sort of. So someone asks me about my mission as we are all sitting there. And he says, "waitaminute!" Then he asks how long I was there. "Two years," I
say, thinking, "Does he not know how long a mission generally is?" And then he
says, "How long have you been home?" And then it hits me, right? I recognize
him. "Are you Bryce?" I ask? "Yeah!" says he. Whoah. Whoah. Whoah, man. I played Mafia with this guy a year ago in Albania. Pretty darn spooky, huh? No one at the table seemed to care, but, hey, I guess that's why I'm posting it up here. Because YOU might care. And there's a high liklihood that you won't. But that's a risk I'll just have to take.
Enjoy,
Xhonzi

Well, most of you missed it. Today was Elder Matthew C. Curtis' homecoming. He gave an excellent talk and managed to remember enough Albanian to give his testimony at the end. Bravo! His e-mail is: mirefare@hotmail.com for those of you that missed out on it.
