I knew my wife before my mission and we were actually dating pretty seriously. We set out with the intent to write every week and stay really close, etc. Well, one fateful Zone Conf. with President Vasquez, changed all that when he told us to write our Novias/Novios one last letter saying I'll talk to you after my mission. I was reluctant to do so, and if not for my amazing wife, I probably wouldn't have completely obeyed this request. To make a long story short, one year into my mission we stopped writing each other completely. 6 Months after I got home from my mission we were married in the Nauvoo Temple. We both knew from the first time we saw each other after my mission that we were still going to get married. When in doubt, just obey the rule, even if you don't agree with it. I know I've been blessed by the tough decision we made.
