RSS

The content of the Australia Brisbane Mission Alumni website is now available via Real Simple Syndication (RSS) broadcasting. This means you can get the headlines and descriptions of the "What's New" section of the site without receiving the e-mail notifications. This new feature gives you the option to monitor new content without opening your web browser or checking your e-mail.

To get started, you need an RSS Reader, also known as an aggregator. There are many free programs you can download and install fairly easily. I have been using KlipFolio found at Download.com. The following links are good resources to find one:

RSS Aggregators:

http://www.download.com Search for RSS.

Once you have an aggregator installed, subscribe to the ABM Alumni Site RSS Feed by pointing your RSS Reader to:

http://www.mission.net/australia/brisbane/rss.php

Whenever new content is approved, you will receive an alert in your RSS Reader. Then, if you want to know more, you can click on the alert, and it will open your web browser and take you directly to the new content on the ABM Alumni site.

There are also many other RSS 'feeds' available on the internet. You can choose to receive information about news, sports, etc. Most major news outlets have RSS feeds on their websites, and you can find other RSS content on sites such as http://www.newsisfree.com.

If you have questions about RSS or need assistance with the new RSS feature of this site, please contact me.
