Well, alot has happened since finishing in the mission field. I moved to Hamilton two weeks after finishing my misson, which was a great blessing as I was closer to the Temple and the YSA. A year later this great guy came off his mission, invited me and few of mine and his friends to a game of Rugby and things pretty much kicked off from there. We did the normal LDS thing, 6wks dating then four months later we got married in the Temple. Wow, amazing. He is a wonderful man and I feel truly blessed. Sometimes I have to pinch myself and wonder how I got so blessed. (I'm sure we all feel the same way about our lovely husbands). We have been married for nearly two and a half years and just last year on 9th Oct 2006 we had a baby boy, Jacob, 6pds 14ozs (3.1kg). He is an amazing little boy! We just love him to pieces. He is nearly 6mths and growing so fast. I look forward to when he becomes a toddler so I can really enjoy him even more. I am no longer working. I finished up when I was 36wks preggy. I was working in early childcare education and was considering becoming an Early Childhood Teacher - but that is on hold at the moment. I am enjoying being a mum (now that Jacob sleeps through the nights), we go swimming at the pools and as a family we like to go down to the Waikato River to go feed the ducks and go for a walk. Life is great especially being married to my best friend who has taught me so much and continues to do so. I now understand what it means to "grow" in love - and its still growing :)
I dont have a calling at the moment as we have moved into a new ward. I previously was Relief Society secretary, which I loved. So I look forward to serving in a new ward, its nice having a break but I do miss having a calling. I love the gospel and strive to do the best I can each day, the scriptures are a great source of strength and help me spiritually in all aspects of my life. Take care xxoo |
