The Golden 30 Sep 2001
This one is for Heather La Barre since she can't remember her password. When I first got transferred to Sister Donna Chan I was unpacking my stuff and my companion began to tell me about our investigators. She mention Megan and how choice she was. We left immediately to meet this woman and her family. I immediately felt a strong spirit that confirmed to me that this woman was meant to be a member of God's church. My companion and I both received confirmation that it was neccessary to have this woman sealed to her family before the end of the next year, but we were unsure of how to deal with the situation as she had already been taught by missionaries in New Zealand and the adversary had struck hard before her baptism and she didn't make it. The next day we went and visited her again and stalled until she invited us for a drink, it was then that we told her that she needed to be sealed to her husband and son. As a side note her husband was an endowed member of the church. She agreed and said that she would retake the discussions. My companion challenged her to be baptised the following Friday, just 5 days away. Megan agreed. Donna and I taught her the six discussions and she commited to baptism. This was all happening in the week following Christmas. On the night before her baptism Megan got really sick and wasn't sure that she would make it to her baptism. The Elders gave her a blessing and the next day she was feeling much better. At the baptismal service the spirit was strong, when her husband entered the water to baptise his wife he had tears streaming down his face. Later when he bore his testimony, he spoke of the love that he had for his wife and how grateful he was that she was now a member of the church. Donna and I were so grateful that we followed the promptings of the Holy Ghost and were servants in the Lords hands. Megan was baptised on December 31st 1999, what a way to start the new Millenium.
