After the mission I finished my degree in Art at BYU and the University of Idaho. I moved to Monterey, California and somehow ended up teaching at Juvenile Hall for a decade before I completed a teaching credential. Then I moved to Georgia, to work as an Elementary School teacher.
I am now living in Asheville, North Carolina (where it is not as misearably hot and hummid as in Georgia) concentrating on writing and illustrating children's books. I'm hoping to find a way to make that a full-time job, but will probably have to go out and get a "real job" pretty soon.
You can check out my blogsite (http://purplefrog.crimsonblog.com) for the text of some of my writing. Not all of what's there is for children, and not all of it will adapt to a picturebook of it's own anyway. And not all of what I'm working on is posted either, but it should be good for a laugh or a thought or two. I haven't yet managed to get a real website where I can post my illustrations. |
