Teófilo Otoni.

I wrote the letter of this city in red because this city is red hot in the summer time.  The only other that is hotter is Nanuque.  Teófilo Otoni is difficult to pronounce, so I am sorry I can't pronounce in writing.  This city is know by its residents as the "Precious stone capital of the world."  There are many foreigners in this city who trade and buy stones.  The church constructed a chapel in 1996 and it is a beautiful place.  The church has grown quickly in this area since the new church and it is a great area to work.  The members of this city are excellent.  They are very supportive of the missionaries.

This is the entrance of the city.  This roadway on the left enters the city, the roadway
to the right will go north, and straight ahead will go south, to Belo Horizonte (7hours away).

This is the bus station of Teófilo Otoni.  What a great site after the
long 7 hour bus ride.

A picture of the city from the hill.  This just shows a small part of the
city, but give a good idea of what it looks like.

This is from down town.  The truck is full of bones from the meat
market.  That truck is there everyday and is filled each day.

This is the road leading to the catholic church.  All cities
in Brazil have the big church and then there are the smaller
ones.
