For those of you who are not keeping track, the normal change in mission president will be happening this summer. The new president has already been called, and will more than likely begin presiding over the mission July 1, 2004.
It was truly an honor to serve under the leadership of President McCarrey. I was in the unique position of beginning my time in the field three weeks before he did. There were some incredible changes wrought under his leadership and the direction of the spirit, which I know he fought to maintain at all times. He redirected the missionaries, helping them gain a new focus and truly changed the 'spirit' of the mission. I know many of you will join with me in thanking him (and Sister McCarrey) for their service and dedication.
