I am a missionary that will be reporting to the MTC on Nov. 7th, about a week from now. I have not reciebed a letter or any other form of contact from President da Silva or his wife and I would really liketo find out some information before I report. I received the following message from President Arias.
Dear missionaries:
I don't know how many of those e-mail are still actives, but I hope that at least one of them will be. If it is so, who will receive this message, please, let it know to the others, that Sister Arias and I will be arriving in Salt Lake in December 9.
I thing that will be difficult to have a great meeting, but, who knows, we can go to eat a pizza or something like that in some time between our arrival and January 4. It will be great!
However, you may contact us by the phone (801)968-3441.
Sister Arias will stay in Salt Lake untill March 3, because she needs to help my daughter-in-law, Laura, with her new baby that is caming in December. So, it is possible that she needs some help on those days. Will you give it to her?
Well, I love you. I hope I could meet you in December.

I have been made aware of a missionary directory that was put together after a mission reunion in 1997 or 1998. The reunion was for President and Sister Amorim and the missionaries of 1990 to 1993.
I would like a copy of this list, so that I may contact old companions and friends.

Those of you coming from Brazil can get Conference Tickets by taking your passport and I94 to Door 4 of the Conference Center. You can receive 1 ticket per passport for each conference session. Tickets for foreign visitors will never run out. The Conference Center ticket office will be open through Conference. The Friday before conference it will be open from 10-7pm. The number to the ticket office is #801.240.7084
US Citizens can get tickets from thier Stake Presidents or Bishops.
Come and join us, catch up with the Amorims, and experience General Conference in Salt Lake City!

My parents have just arrived in the mission field and will also be serving in the Fortaleza area. They have been called to serve as Humanitarian Representatives to the Brazil North Area. They will be centered in Recife, but will travel to work with Stake Presidencies throughout all of Northern Brazil. This includes not only Fortaleza, but also Mossoro, Aracati, Teresina and many of the outlying areas of the Fortaleza mission.
My father served a mission in the Brazil South area from 1960-1963. His Portuguese is a little rusty, but overall, he still can bate papo with the best of them. My mother is still learning the language, but is excited to serve with the people of the Nordeste and to feel of their love for the Savior and His representatives.
The reason this is so special is that I also served in the Fortaleza mission (1994-1996). I was so excited to think that my parents would get to serve with the same people that I fell in love with.
