Five new temple presidents have been called by the First Presidency, with their wives called as matrons. They will begin service in November.

José Maria Arias, 65, Chácara das Pedras Ward, Porto Alegre Brazil North Stake, called as president of the Curitiba Brazil Temple, succeeding President Jason G. Sousa. President Arias' wife, Aida Celeste Bentancort Núñez Arias, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a counselor in the Porto Alegre Brazil Temple presidency. He has served as president of the Brazil Fortaleza Mission, regional welfare agent, district president, bishop and high councilor. Retired Church area Welfare Services manager, he was born in Rio Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina, to José María and María Elba Funes Arias.
