Sam passed away on December 10, 2006. Below is his obituary. Jay Samuel Hawkins, 28, our beloved Sam, passed valiantly into eternity December 10, 2006 in Summerlin, Nevada after battling lymphoma. Born fourth of seven children to Lonnie Glenn and Claudia Anderson Hawkins in Provo, Utah on January 29, 1978. His early years were spent in Utah before moving to Mesa, Arizona in 1987. His youth was marked by promise and happiness. His lifelong pursuit of excellence began early. He loved to read, play the piano and flute, sports and the companionship of family and many friends. In addition to the Duty to God Award, Eagle Scout and several Palms, Sam was an Honor Scout and Order of the Arrow. He graduated from Mountain View High School in 1996 before serving an honorable LDS Mission in Brazil, where he left part of his heart. He married the joy of his life, Kira Marie Olson, June 24, 1999 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. They were blessed with two beautiful children; a dear son, Emmet (3) and a precious daughter, Emery (1). His family is his heart and soul and he devoted his life to them. Sam graduated from Arizona State University (B.S., magna cum laude) in 2001 and from the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D., with Honors) in 2006. He was honored to be an Associate at Alverson Taylor in Las Vegas, Nevada where he enjoyed his work and many friends. Sam has left a legacy of service to God and his fellowman that will be a joy to his family forever. Sam was preceded in death by two grandparents, Victor Jay and Agnes June Anderson. He is survived by his treasured wife, Kira and their two children, Emmet and Emery; parents, Lonnie and Claudia Hawkins, four brothers and two sisters; Chase (Alison) Hawkins, Shellie (Christopher) Bowers, Tamara (Jason) Belnap, Kristopher (Emily) Hawkins, Brady (Sarah) Hawkins, Blake (Alyssa) Hawkins; Grandparents, Glenn and Virginia Hawkins, Provo, Utah; 15 nieces and nephews; Kira's family, her parents, Ken and Kathryn Olson and two brothers, Chris (Jenny) Olson and Chance. |

| Aqui é a Sister Freitas, estou tentando entrar com o meu e não consigo e por isso vou fazer com o de meu esposo que também foi missionário em Goiânia, estamos bem animados e felizes com nossa nova vida de casal, casamos no dia 8 de dezembro no templo de recife, tivemos o elder alves (Alam) tocando violino em nosso casamento, foi lindo demais, enfim, estamos com saudades de todos vcs, felicidades a todos os que nos conheceram na missão. | |

Oi Amigos, Sou muito grata a meu Pai por ter me deixado servir nesta missão e conhecido pessoas maravilhosas que me ajudaram a crescer. Queria agradecer a todos que fizeram parte de minha vida e contribuiram direta ou indiretamente para meu progresso. Gostaria também de pedir-lhes que mandem notícias e que se possível enviem fotos de suas famílias ou conquistas e vitórias (meu e-mail pessoal é isabellebrasileiro@yahoo.com.br). E ai galera, Espero que todos estejam bem ao receber este e-mail. Foi bom demais ter reencontrado o valentes que serviram na Missão Brasil Goiânia. Sei que faltaram alguns amigos nossos por isso já estamos planejando o próximo reencontro, ou melhor, EVENTO, que vai acontecer no mês de Março de 2005. Queremos reunir o maior número de missionários retornados, contar suas experiências, mostrar suas famílias, etc... Peço a colaboração de todos para enviar os contatos dos missionários que tem. Vamos ter a presença do Presidente e Sister Casado e Presidente e Sister Barbour. Queremos ver todos lá, por isso começamos a planejar desde já. Para Todos Da Missao do Reino Celestial, e A Coracao do Brasil -----If you havent already heard from the Reunions portion of this web page, you shall soon hear. We are holding our 2nd annual Brazil Goiania Mission Reunion on Oct. 3, 2003 from 6pm- 10pm. at the WyView(NOT WyMount) multipurpose building in Provo. It will be a BYM (bring your own meat) Party. We will try to have other things provided. any donations would help, seeing we are still all poor college students. Come planning to have fun, visit with old friends, tell stories, sing songs, show pictures, chat, and Comer Muito. If you cant make it by 6pm, show up when you can.
