I think I speak for all the missionaries that knew Dana when I say he was a good man. He'll be missed by all.

Dana James Hendrickson

HURRICANE -- Dana James Hendrickson, age 29, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003 from an automobile accident near Toquerville, Utah. Dana was born June 1, 1974 in Fontana, California, a son of Douglas Edward and Patricia Ann Snow Hendrickson. He married Maryann Kirkland on September 3, 1999 in the St. George Temple.

At the age of four, Dana and his family moved to Toquerville. He attended school in Hurricane, Utah, graduating from Hurricane High School in 1992. Dana served a mission for his Heavenly Father through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Recife, Brazil. Upon completion of his mission, he attended Dixie College, graduating with an Associates Degree. He was most recently serving as a Ward Missionary and teaching Sunday School in the Hurricane 8th Ward. He worked for 10 years at Lin's Market in Hurricane and also as a sales rep. for Frito-Lay.

Dana loved sports, and basketball was one of his favorites. He enjoyed everything about the outdoors, especially summers at Lake Powell. He loved jeeping and motorcycle riding on his Harley. Dana loved people and people loved Dana.

Surviving family include his: wife, Maryann, of Hurricane; parents, Doug and Patsi Hendrickson, of Toquerville; two brothers, Duane (Amanda) Hendrickson, of St. George, UT and Don (Holly) Hendrickson, of Salt Lake City, UT; three sisters, Paige Hendrickson, of Salt Lake City, UT, Pamela (Stephen) Lisonbee, of La Verkin, UT, and Penny (Greg) Butterfield, of Cedar City, UT; nephew, Cade; three nieces, Aubrey, Ashley, and Hailey; parents-in-law, Ben and Kay Kirkland, of Washington, UT; seven brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sarah (Darren) Coonrad, of Washington State, Benny (Abi) Kirkland, of California, Laura (Jamie) Bish, of Washington State, Nathan (Shyloh) Kirkland, of Enterprise, UT, David Kirkland, of Silver Reef, UT, Sharon (E.J.) Guller, of St. George, UT, Emily (Shawn) Gaitin, of Salt Lake City, UT; three nephews, Dillon, Garrison, and Quentin; and one niece, Campbell.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 14, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hurricane 8th Ward Chapel, 155 E.1050 N., Hurricane, UT. Friends may call Sunday, July 13, 2003 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 2600 W. State St., Hurricane, and again Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., prior to services, at the Chapel. Interment will be in the Toquerville Cemetery. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 673-2454.
