I was a member of the Mt. Rubidoux ward, Riverside Stake in 2004. There was a group of five missionaries serving at the time who sang and called themselves "The Messengers". I have a copy of their CD that President Christensen (I believe) endorsed which has finally worn out. My CD player won't recognize it anymore. Does anyone have one that they can burn a copy of for me? This is my very favorite CD of all time!

Hi there fellow Alums of the California Riverside Mission.
I have had this feeling for a while now and wanted to act upon it. I also need your help please in this event. I think it would be something cool for President Reid Brown. I spoke with him recently and I know he can use some "pick me up" moments in his life now.
I would like all of us to send him a small card. Don't worry about the cost of the cards or the stamps. I will personally take care of that. All I need is a little of your time in writing down some thoughts about the California Riverside Mission, your current addresses, and for you to send it to President Brown directly.
I will buy the cards and send it to you in pre-paid postage envelopes. All you have to do is write down some thoughts, what you are currently doing, your life, pictures, etc... and just send it to him on a pre-paid envelope.
I hope you all can participate in this. It will literally take 15 minutes of your time as you write and put this in the mail box to be sent out.
Please let me know what you think and let me know your addresses. I will try to have this sent out within a week.
Please forward this message to those that I do not have their addresses/info.
Sincerely,
Fiat Vongpunsawad

I must say, we did some dumb things on the mission, but WHAT were we thinking? Does anybody recall the old McDonald's 'golden arch' sign in the missionary flat in 29 Palms?
I just got to thinking about our not-well-planned, not-well-executed idea of stealing that old sign and putting it in the flat, in hopes that it would become some sort of historic mission relic. We all signed our names as the 'founders' of the sign, and then showed up for church on Sunday, only to have to field questions from the local members, "What's the sign for?"
You could literally see the thing from the highway -- you know how a kid can spot the 'golden arch' for miles?
Surfing in the back of the mission truck on the way home, so that the sign wouldn't blow away, waving and honking at the locals as we did so. No wonder they thought us Mormons were crazy. I'll chalk it up to dumb youthful ideas and desert heat 'brain damage'. Maybe our brains were fried that summer -- it was a hundred degrees that evening (the sun was down).
Does anybody recall this? Are any of my co-conspirators willing to come forward? Any pictures or memories from others? Did the sign get thrown away/burned? (Bonfires were the P-Day 'eve' normal activity there, so I wouldn't be surprised.)
