I am so glad to discover this web site! The mission field sure trained me to go through other expereinces in life. I married Gary Overson June 1992. Graduated from BYU in 1992 with my degree in Elementary Ed. I never got to teach in a classroom yet...we have six children. Three boys & three girls. We lived in Mesa AZ then moved to Dallas TX. May 2006 we found out Gary had cancer in his esophagus. They treated it with chemo, radiation and surgery. The cancer was gone but Gary's lungs were damaged. He spent three years mostly in hospitals and rehabs trying to regain his health & strength. Summer 2007 he was well enough to go with us to NC for a family reunion but he wasn't strong enough to stay home for long. Finally in May 2009 infections took over and he past away. The children & I moved to NC to be closer to my family. Through all of this I know the Lord's hand is in our lives! Not just mine He is aware of all of us! He knows what is best for us, what we need to experience.
Life moves on and when we put the Lord first He blesses us. I would love to get in contact with others from our mission and hear about your lives. Sister Rhea Wheatley Overson |
