My wife and I were on the stand at our High Priest Group Social in South Jordan, UT. I was surprised to see President & Sister Winder enter the chapel. I knew they had returned from their most recent assignment, but I haven't seen them for 20 years! They live in our stake right next to the Jordan River Temple in the Brownstone condos. It was so fun catching up with them. They left the CSDM when Sister Winder was called to be the General RS President. They were called back to be Presidents of the Czech Republic (President Winder served there as a young missionary). Although they served as Mission President over the Family History Center Mission at Temple Square, and most recently returned from being Nauvoo Temple President in August, President Winder still is the only Patriarch for the Czech Republic. In fact he returns there every six months to give blessings, since he is the only Patriarch in the church who speaks that language.
Sister Winder has recently had eye surgery, and finds it very difficult to see the computer screen. For that and other reasons they are not able to log on to this site for now. However, they did want me to pass their love onto you with whom they served 20+ years ago. I have posted a picture of them with my wife, Noni and myself taken on my cell camera that evening at dinner (not the best picture quality, but all I had spur of the moment).
