I learned Spanish. My first mission Prisident was Dale L. Russon, his memory is a blessing. I was in Oakland, Hayward, San Francisco, Antioch, San Jose, and Morgan Hill. I was able to see how the Holy Spirit can touch people's heart's and soul's. The Holy Spirit is the true tool of conversion. When anyone can feel the burning in your heart, there is no denying it! Elder Joseph Campbell was one of my companions. We had much success in our efforts. Elder Michael Rakes was a companion of mine. We contacted a lot of people. When the San Jose Mission was formed, I became a part of it at the end of my mission. Elder Scott Sowards was a fast learner. He was my last companion in San Jose when I left to go to Morgan Hill. I remember when Elder Terry L. Van Wormer was called to be a missionary for the deaf. We all felt that it was a divine call and it strengthened our testimonies. Before I left the mission, when my mission was over, I was invited into the home of President Cahoon and his wife. They were loving and kind to me. I spent several days with them, then , I returned to Stow, Ohio. |
