LEE CURTIS DORTZBACH &
VICKIE ANN KARTCHNER
have fallen in love and
know life would not be
complete without our
Best Friend as our Companion.
We are getting married July 13, 2002
in the Bountiful Utah Temple.
We will make our home in Norfolk, Virginia
where Vickie will go to school and
Lee will continue sailing.
We will be having an Open House July 13, 2002, at 195 N. Highland Blvd, Brigham City, UT (84302) from 6-8 p.m. Those who can, please make it out to the home of Vickie's parents so we can say "Hi." We have also registered at Sears.
Vickie and I will begin living in a apartment until we can move into a home hopefully this March. Our address will be 815 Pecan Point Road, Apt. #1, Norfolk, VA 23502. Our phone number there is (757) 461-2919.
I leave July 23 for a 6 month deployment. On Friday, July 19 we will have a simple potluck get together in Norfolk for all our friends who could not make it to Utah. It will be at Tarralton Park, 2100 Tarralton Dr, Norfolk, Virginia, from 6-8 p.m. Dress accordingly, as it has been hot out here. Volleyball, softball, basketball, soccer and inline skating areas are available. Those with last names starting A-H bring drinks, I-P bring chips, plates, utensils, or cups, and Q-Z bring a salad. Please RSVP by July 17 to me at Dortzy@hotmail.com or (757) 646-2006.
For those of you that don't know Lee: Lee was raised in Kaysville, Utah until he was 10 and lived in Fayetteville, North Carolina and Fort Hood, Texas. He attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, Long Island, New York and served in the California Ventura Mission (north of Los Angeles) before graduating in June 2000. Lee has been with the U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command a little less than two years and is presently the Cargo Mate aboard the USNS LARAMIE, a floating gas station. He met Vickie at a church class in August 2001 and started dating in November. Lee enjoys road trips, volleyball, star-gazing and now mountain biking with Vickie's Dad (since he didn't kill Lee).
Or the ones that haven't had the privilege of meeting Vickie: Vickie grew up in Park Valley, Ogden, and Brigham City, Utah. She was a nanny in Wellesley, Massachusetts for three years. She joined the Navy in April 1998 as a Ship's Serviceman and worked in the barber shop, ship's store, laundry and with the vending machines aboard the USS DONALD COOK (DDG-75), a guided missile destroyer. In April 2002 Vickie choose not to reenlist. She will be returning to school to study Early Childhood Education this fall. Vickie accepted Lee's proposal on May 10 after a three month separation. Vickie loves anything involving the outdoors and children. Vickie has a kitten named "Aggie" which will keep her company this year while Lee is deployed for six months.
Thanks for playing a part in our lives. We hope to see or hear from you again!
