| In Simi Valley on the day before Thanksgiving, 1999, Elder Wilson and I were tracting. We weren't having too much success and we were about to call it quits before dinner. We go to a door and knock, noone answers. My companion decides to try it again, still no answer. He knocks again, finally a person comes to the door but he doesn't open it. He says, "Who is it?" My companion said, "The missionaries." The man said, "The what?" Again Elder Wilson said, "The Missionaries." The guy said "Go where you are going." Companion said, "excuse me!" The man the said, "Missionaries go to &@*!." We left and continued down the street. We get to the end of the street and get no answer at the door so we decide to head back. I notice a cop car behind us on the road but thought nothing of it until four cops shine their flashlights in our face and ask if we were panhandelers. We said no we were missionaries. They said that we must have upsetted some guy because he called the cops and told them there were panhandelers on the street asking for money. |
