Presidents: Merlin O. Baker (1976 - 1979) | Served: 1977 - 1978 | Areas Served: Dartmouth, NS; Mt. Pearl, Nflnd; Amherst, NS | Companions: Patrice Hunt (Barton) | Diane Stonehocker (Foss) | Your Occupation: Homemaker | Spouse: Earl Childers | Comments: Wow, I had no idea that this site existed. I stumbled onto it while trying to show my daughter where I served.
I married about a year after going home. Earl and I have four great kids, ages 21-31 now. The oldest is married and lives near Seattle, WA, and just had her fourth child, but first girl. We are thrilled to be here for the holidays and the birth of our granddaughter.
I worked for several years as a secretary and quit work shortly before having children. I did books for a business my husband owned for a while. I also did part-time stints between children taking classified ads at a newspaper, cleaning houses, and eventually became a medical transcriptionist from home. I quit transcribing when I started homeschooling two of my children through middle school years.
I've served mostly in Primary and am currently a Webelos leader with my husband, which has probably been the most fun calling I've ever had. I also serve under the stake primary as a unit commissioner for cub scouts in our stake. |
