J. Blair Jones passed away 23 Jun 2004
Obituary: J. Blair Jones

1930 ~ 2004
J. Blair Jones, 73, passed away June 7, 2004. He fell from a ladder while working on a new home.
He was the youngest of nine children, born June 28, 1930 to Bernard A. and Mary Lusk Jones in Malad, Idaho. He graduated from Malad High School in 1948 and married his sweetheart, Carol Elizabeth Davis of Downey, Idaho, in the Logan Temple July 6, 1950. Blair was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all.
In 1963 Blair created the ART Company and lived his life doing what he loved - designing and building. His design talents are displayed in the many shopping centers, apartments, banks, medical centers and unique custom homes he built.
Blair had a deep personal relationship with his Savior and was committed to serve Him. He left his bride of three months to serve in the Western Canadian Mission. He later served with Carol, in the South Carolina, Columbia Mission and returned to Canada to the Vancouver, BC mission. He was an example to all by the way he honored his priesthood, and faithfully fulfilled his various church callings.
His favorite times were spent on Sunday nights surrounded by his family. He leaves his loving companion, Carol, who he always referred to as his "Beautiful Bride" and a family of eight children and spouses, Jay (Connie) of Dallas, Texas; Teri (Bill) Cook of Fruit Heights; Trudi (Randy) Cooper of Farmington; Jed (Janey) of Bountiful; Tod (Denise) of Kaysville; Toni (Lloyd) Felton of Salt Lake City; Ted (Cindy) of Bountiful; and Tim (Sandra) of Bountiful. He is also loved by 39 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; his brother Ted (Lu) Jones of Prescott, AZ; sister-in-law Mary Lou Jones of Malad, ID; and brothers and sisters-in-law Reese (Cliss) Davis of South Jordan; and Dale (Jeannine) Davis of Downey, ID; and many nieces and nephews. Blair was preceded in death by his parents and seven older siblings.
Because of his firm belief in higher education, the family suggests a contribution to the Perpetual Education fund in lieu of flowers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 12th at 12 noon at the Bountiful 54th Ward (540 N. 1200 E. Bountiful). Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary (295 N. Main, Bountiful) and 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the 54th Ward. Interment is at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery (1640 E. Lakeview Dr., Bountiful).
