About 4 years ago I was able to go down to South America to pick up my second son from his mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I took the oppportunity to fly over to Chile and rendezvous to some of the areas of labor in my mission. I was able to link up with one particular man that I baptized in the town of Los Andes. His name was Guillermo Huerta. It was liked stepping into the past and I was totally consumed by the experience and the emotions of seeing someone that you worked with enter into the Lord's kingdom on earth. He pulled out his guitar and we sang a song that we used to sing with each other at mutual night to entertain the youth. What an experience. It was worth the 30 plus years of waiting. The Church is still true and I am looking forward to the challenges that face the Church in terms of its stand on marriage between a man and a woman. May we be strong in our resolve not to bend to the fiery darts that come our way and to defend what is good and wholesome. Craig Clifford |
