Hello everyone!
Big favor to ask and I do not have a whole lot of info for you to go on, but my roomate and I are looking to go to cz for vacation and we wanted to possibly look up a member friend we met two years ago who was in Salt Lake visiting a missionary who had served over there. The Members name was Radek Youly (now that is sortof how his name sounded I doubt very much if I am spelling it right). Radek was a police officer somewhere down there but I am not sure what city. The missionaries first name was Taylor. He was from the Salt Lake area. I know ecspecially for missionares most of the time thier first name is "elder" but any help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance for anything.

Does anybody know where I can go online to get the Dracula CDs?
Does anybody remember what I'm even talking about. I barely do. It was that one play with that one dude by the name of Daniel Hulka. I just really have to buy it.
Or if anybody knows of any Czech specialty shops around the Bay Area I'd love to know about it.

I told her that I am putting up the Christmas tree because she told me how much stuff she is bringing. She is great.

Greetings!
I'm writing to you to ask for your support in a very special cause.
This year, I'll be taking part in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk to Cure Diabetes along with a half-million other walkers across the country. Our goal: To raise $86 million to help fund research for a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications.
Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating, often deadly disease that affects millions of people--a large and growing percentage of them children.
Many people think type 1 diabetes can be controlled by insulin. While insulin does keep people with type 1 diabetes alive, it is NOT a cure. Aside from the daily challenges of living with type 1 diabetes, there are many severe, often fatal, complications caused by the disease.
That's the bad news... and yes, it's pretty bad.
The good news, though, is that a cure for type 1 diabetes is within reach. In fact, JDRF funding and leadership is associated with most major scientific breakthroughs in type 1 diabetes research to date. And JDRF funds a major portion of all type 1 diabetes research worldwide, more than any other charity.
I'm writing to ask for your support because now more than ever, EACH of us can be a part of bringing about a cure. Each of us can make a real difference
Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as you're able?
Together, we can make the cure a reality.
Thank you,
Angela Johnson
Please visit my Walk Web page if you would like to donate online or see how close I am to reaching my personal goal:

Hey everyone...
It's been up for a while now, but I just wanted to make sure everyone noticed the Mission Songs page I added. There are some MIDI files of the Czech and Slovak National Anthems as well as a recording of the song I wrote for my college choir (in Czech). Please take time to try to download the links so I will know if there are any problems.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi everyone!
I've gotten a couple of emails from people saying that they have maps, pictures, and other city information that they would like to share with me for the site, but no one has actually sent any of them. Now that I've graduated and my job situation is stable for the moment (at least for the summer), I'm ready to start working on the mission cities page like I said I would. If any of those people would like to send me anything, please send it on to czechmissiongroup@yahoo.com. If you have any questions, feel free to send them my was as well.
Thanks to everyone who are keeping this site looking good!
Cau,
Steve

Czech hockey team won!!! Time to celebrate!!
Final score Czech Rep. Canada 3:0
|
|
We are going to play on Sunday May 15, 2005 against Canada. In all Czech cities there are large TV screens on the squares and our president Vaclav Klaus is going to see the game live. Anyway extra prayers for the Czech hockey team would be a good thing! We will play for gold!!! Cesi dotoho, Cesi dotoho.

Remember this weekend in every city of the Czech Republic people are going to burn "the witches". It is a symbolic way to say good bye to the winter and welcome the spring. This tradition goes back to midevil times. Hope you have fun as I do!
