Dobry den! Great news-- The Rezacovi, Tichonovi, and Vitovi from Brno are coming for General Conference through The Always Remember Foundation! This foundation was recently organized to provide an additional way for RMs, friends, and family to continue to bless the lives of those they served in the Czech and Slovak Republics.
We are currently working on this General Conference project and would love your involvement and support. It will be ongoing and will give an opportunity to a few Czech or Slovak couples every six months to attend General Conference in the Conference Center, go on temple trips, and visit area attractions. We're excited for those coming to have strengthening experiences and to gain a broader vision for the Church's possibilities in their own countries.
Arrangements for housing and food are taken care of, but we are currently raising funds for these couples' airfare. For more information on how to be involved with this project, please visit www.alwaysrememberfoundation.org.
Diky moc!

Does anyone know what happened to Anna, the poor woman who lived on the outskirts of Hradec Kralove? If you met her, you'd know who I'm talking about. She was very poor, 86 years old (in 1997) and covered from head to toe in coal soot. Anyway, when I was there, I got her information so that I could do her temple work. The last I heard, she had fallen, hurt herself, was brought to the hospital, and from there she was sent to an old age home and was happy. I understand that the sisters lost contact with her because she wasn't family, and so no one would pass on information to them. I am hoping that is not true. If you know what happened to her, or if you have any more information about her (ie. birthdate, place, death date, place, parent's names, etc.) please let me know. Anna probably influenced me more than any one else on my mission, and I would really love to do her temple work for her if the time has come.

I will be part of a group of 6 that will be visiting Prague May 24-26. May 25 we would like to take an excursion to Karlovy Vary. Does anyone have a recommendation about a tour agency or someone who might be willing to provide transportation and spend the day with us. We are not asking for "freebies" but would be more than willing to pay for the service. Any leads you might be able to provide would be appreciated.

I'm going into the MTC in March and was just wondering if any of the sisters brought a pair of warm boots with them and if they did was it beneficial? I bought a pair, but just wondering what those who are out there think....
Thanks,

As of this week there are two missionaries serving in Kosice!! There is one active member who lives in Presov and has been travelling to Zilina for meetings. Other than that I don't know specifically how many people will attend the church meetings there. With official recognition of the Church in Slovakia, it is finally time for the gospel to be spread by missionaries throughout the country and not only along its Czech border. I'm sure I wasn't the only missionary who dreamed of opening Kosice for missionary work.
From what I've heard (drby), depending how the work progresses in Kosice, other cities and areas could also welcome missionaries in the near future. It's a very exciting time for missionary work in Slovakia. Keep praying for your Slovak friends and the missionaries who are serving them!

In the MTC will I get an English and Czech Preach my Gospel or just the Czech one. I wasn't going to bring mine, but if I only get a Czech one then I think I might.
Also should I order Czech scriptures now or will I get them there? Bible and BoM?
And can anyone suggest a good "learn Czech" book? Do they give you those materials there or should I bring some with me?
I'm sorry for my ignorance! But I appreciate all the help!
Much love to you all!

Hello all!
I'm moving to Prague! I just got my call a week ago! dying to know more about this place.
Thanks to all the sisters who emailed me- my Dad forwarded them all to me since they were going to his address. I updated my profile so it should have my email address: kristy_sih@yahoo.com. Anybody live near DC? Sisters anything I just have to bring with me?
I also wanted to share a story- (this is secondhand, I apologize for any mistakes). A member of my Bishopric had dinner with the Church's Western/Eastern? Europe lawyer last week. Apparently the church has been trying to gain official recognition in Slovakia for awhile now, but to no avail. They needed 20,000 signatures (with id numbers) in order to get official recognition (I'm sure you guys know more about that than I do). Well the church was trying everything- even hired a PR company. Got maybe 400 signatures. Well, I believe it was in Sept- they took all the missionaries from the Czech Republic and sent them to Slovakia to get these signatures- and guess what?! They did it! 20,000 signatures. So I'm not sure where the process is, but we should (if it hasn't already happened) get official recognition soon.
Secondhand info, so please fill in any details if you know them! I don't know much about the situation, but I thought it was an incredible story.
Thanks,
Kristy

Hello, everyone!
I need to find out any contact information about two elders who served in the Czech Prague Mission long time ago, I'm not sure how long (possibly in the early 1990's). Their names are Elder Steenbakkers and Elder Larsen. Their phone number while serving in Brno was 321 678, which is all the information I have now, since it's in a small, blue pamphlet called "Hvězda Milenia" about Christ in America. Please, help me find these elders, it's important to me. I'll tell you why when I find them.
Thanks for any help you can offer!

Apostle Dieter F. Uchtdorf dedicated the Slovak Republic for the missionary work. The dedicatory prayer last for 15 minutes and the blessings pronounced were amazing. Missionary work, stakes, chapels everything. The place was nearby Trencin. I will keep you updated.
