If you call the Church Office Building at 240-1000 and
ask for "records" or something of the sort you will be
referred to an office. once there, state to the person
that you are trying to locate an old companion. the
person will ask for the name of that person, your name
and a message (or something like that). The COB will
then mail the person a postcard saying that someone is
trying to locate them. If they want to respond, they
have your info that was supplied by the COB. I did this
and located an old companion. According to the person
at the COB, this service can be used to find members
worldwide as well (at least as of early 1998). any
