Back in 1978-79, I traveled to Santo Domingo to assist my father with his restauraunt... he needed surgery. I was a fresh convert and my spanish was not so good. The Dr. offered his daughter to assist me at the restauraunt with her spanish. In one week, she gained a testimony of the gospel. My bishop in Ca. told me that their was no Mission yet established on the Island. I didn't know what to do. As I sayed a silent prayer one evening while walking on the beach with Lissette, just then I saw two missionaries riding their bikes. She took the discussions, and I was able to baptize her in a swimming pool.
One week later Hurrican David hit the island with 150mph winds. The restaurant was distroyed and I was offered to stay at the Dr's house with Lissette. One month later we were able to leave the stricken island. She went to Coral Springs FL. where her mother lived and I on to Ca. She was active for a while in Fl. but I have learned she has become less active.
