The Singing Family of Newquay

Members of the Bundy family of Newquay took the Cornwall County Music Festival by song on 16 March 1999. Simmone won the under-16 mixed class, Adam won the under-11 mixed class, and Simmone and Toby won the under-16 vocal duet. Toby came second in the under-14 class. Simmone also won the under-17 composition class for her school.

The Bundy children, who are well known in Cornwall and have performed at many different venues, are in demand as soloists and as a group. They spend their summers singing in local hotels with a group called the Trelawney Troubadours to raise money for charity. Two other brothers - Mikey, who sings, and Clyde, who is the roadie (stagehand) - are involved with the group.

When appropriate, the group includes Church songs in their programme. They love to perform, and over the last few years they have won a number of championship trophies.

Members of the Bundy family were born in Jersey and attended the St Helier Ward until 1991, when they moved to the United States for three years. They have lived in Cornwall for the past five years and are members of the St Austell Ward - Clive Payne, St Austell Ward, Plymouth Stake
