Elder Dave Hansen here from Bountiful, Utah. Married since June 2000; have one son and one daughter. Life is great.
I Had the privilege of going to Pres. Robison's funeral; I felt completely homesick afterward. So great to see some of you fine Elders and Sisters there to pay respects. I wouldn't have known about it if not for my trainer, Elder Fred Scheffner telling me about it. Sister Robison looked great, hardly changed over these last 15 years: sparkly, spry and beautiful to the core. To hear how much Pres. and Sis. Robison loved each one of us from their children brought tears to my eyes and reminded me of how lucky we all were to have them in the ELM. I didn't know how much I miss them.
Their children recall never hearing Pres speak harshly, or yell, or "punish" them as they grew up, and this reminded me of zone conferences when he would tell us to convert people and treat our comps with "pure kindness." What an amazing figure and example of the savior this man was, and still is, as Elder Holland reminded us as he spoke lovingly of him, that the savior taught, "he that believeth in me shall never die." He is not dead. Nor will any of us be.
