Poitiers info 20 Jul 2004
Thank you for the info you have sent.

We have discovered that Poitiers is now in the Paris mission. We have been given several phone numbers (missionaries, branch president, EQ president, and relief society president). We have also heard that the branch now meets in Beaulieu.

We are very excited to go and look forward to getting to know the city and the people.

If you have other information you want to tell us about, please do so by all means.

The best to everyone,

Matt

Oh and by the way, we are not looking for a place to stay (in case you were afraid we would encroach on someone)--we already have a place reserved en ville...merci.

Poitiers 19 Jul 2004
Hello,

I am officially a "friend" on this site. I served in Geneva 1990-1992 and taught at the MTC for about 3 years.

In October I will be taking my wife and two young children to Poitiers for about 3 months and am wondering if anyone could tell me about the city. I have heard great things about it here and there but am hoping to get more detail.

Specifically, what is the ward/branch like? Which mission is Poitiers in now? What is the weather like from Oct to Dec? And especially, where is the best place to get pains au chocolat? No really, who are some members there that would be open to having us contact them? Are there any members that have similar demographics to my family (children ages 2 and 1/2 and 1)?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Matt

stats 05 Jul 2004
We always were a stats mission, weren't we? I think I got some passbacks this week and a few RdV's set. I did have some girls over for a mangez-vous, does that count?

If you do succeed in getting all these stats, I'm sure that many of us would be very interested! Please post them if possible.

France Bdx Mission Stats 24 Jun 2004
I'm looking for some statistics about the France Bordeaux Mission - when it opened, when it closed, all the presidents, how many missionaries served in the MFB total, how many served under each individual pres, what cities/areas were open to missionaries at any time during the life of the MFB, etc.

If anyone knows any of these stats or knows where I could go to find them I'd be much obliged.

Photo of President's House 20 May 2004
You can go to http://www.pagesjaunes.fr and on the right-hand side you'll see "A Découvrir: Les Photos des Villes." Bordeaux is one of the villes available, and you can enter the address (18 rue Oscar Ballaresque) to get two small pictures of the house. The pics were taken on a cloudy day, so they're not that great, but they're there.

It's kind of eerie, actually. You can look at darn near any house in Bordeaux this way.

Chuck.
