Photo of President's House 20 May 2004
You can go to http://www.pagesjaunes.fr and on the right-hand side you'll see "A Découvrir: Les Photos des Villes." Bordeaux is one of the villes available, and you can enter the address (18 rue Oscar Ballaresque) to get two small pictures of the house. The pics were taken on a cloudy day, so they're not that great, but they're there.

It's kind of eerie, actually. You can look at darn near any house in Bordeaux this way.

Chuck.

Michel Horner 18 May 2004
As of January 2001 Michel lived in St. Jean de Luz. He is married to Nadia Horner and they have 4 kids--Sandra, Allan, Leyna, and one that came the day I left Biarritz. Their address is 21 rue Anderemariena, St. Jean de Luz, 64500 and their phone number is 05.59.85.12.58. If they have left you could call Miria Gautron who is Nadia's good friend in St. Jean de Luz. Her number is 05.59.51.07.86. If you get a hold of Michel tell the family hi from me : )

I spent Christmas with Michel and Nadia Horner in Biarritz (south of Bayonne) in 1999. I don't have their address or number, but Megan Beckstrom (Sansom) probably does.

President's House 17 May 2004
Hello all. I need a picture of the President's house in Bordeaux. No matter who is in it, as long as I can see the house behind. If you have any such, could you scan and send them too me. Or, if that's a problem, let me know that you have one and maybe I can swing by and borrow it sometime. Many thanks, T Barlow (tomnkers@yahoo.com)

Cahors apartment was nice too 13 May 2004
"no other [apartment] even compared through out the rest of the mission."

Ahem.

I opened Cahors in July 1995. Until Auch, Cahors was hands-down the nicest apartment in the mission.

Cahors apartment was huge. The massive livingroom included a wraparound bay window (we held Sunday meetings there), the biggest bathroom I've had in anyplace I've *ever* lived, front and rear balconies, and a beautiful location beside the Lot river.

But what really made the Cahors apartment special was the kitchen. A great, big, North-American-style kitchen. Full-sized stove and oven with range hood. More counter space than I saw in any other ville. A built-in fridge (that matched the counters). A built-in washing machine. A walk-in pantry. And yes, a working dishwasher -- very handy for what was briefly a four-man ville (although the dishwasher broke after some elders forgot to refill the softening salts -- oops).

I got transferred back to Agen when Auch was opened, and I concede Auch apartment was bigger, and people who've seen both places say that Auch has the edge, but it was not beyond compare.

Nothing against Auch; just sticking up for my old ville, you know? =)

Auch 13 May 2004
Hey, just to join in on this on going Auch conversation, I'd like to say that Auch was my "blue" ville and I loved that place! I was from May 1999- Sept 1999 and when I left in Sept, the 4-man left with me. Yep, I was the last of the 4-man. I left with Justin Carlton, leaving Elder (Luke) Glanville with Elder (Jonathan) Seal to be a 2-man ville again. We almost had a baptism while I was there, a really cool lady, Giselle, with a gay son and I swear he was hitting on me everytime I went over there- that kid made me feel creepy! Even worse than Philip, man that guy was crazy. Fun, but crazy- with his love obsession with Vietnamese women!? Anyway, many fond memories of that apartment--no other even compared through out the rest of the mission.
Oh, and of course for those of you who have served there or visited at the right time, who can forget the infamous and always predictable friday dinners with Frére Cazaux!
That was probably my favorite dinner all week.
Anyways, good times, good times.

Blandine 12 May 2004
Elder Hamilton -- if you manage to find Blandine, please let me know -- she and I became fairly close while I was in Orleans, before she moved. Thanks!
