- President Christensen placed special emphasis on interesting the youth in the gospel, and these efforts met with "considerable success".

Andrew Losee Lamoreaux (1853-1854)
- President Lamoreaux was born October 17, 1812 in Pickering, Upper Canada. He married Isabel Wilson on October 12, 1833. He was baptized in Scarborough in June, 1837. He served a number of missions in the United States before being called to preside over the French mission. Upon his return from France in June of 1855 with 74 converts, he died of cholera in St. Louis.
