Supreme Court gavel passes ceremoniously to McGregor today
Today at 2:30 at the Arizona Supreme Court, Chief Justice Charles E. Jones will pass the chief's gavel to Justice Ruth V. McGregor. It's a symbolic ceremony - the position will actually pass to McGregor at midnight Sunday, when Jones turns 70, and by law, must retire from the Supreme Court bench.

Charles E. “Bud” Jones, the immediate past chief justice of the Arizona Supreme Court, has joined the InfiLaw National Policy Board. [....] InfiLaw’s National Policy Board includes national and international authorities in law, education, government and business. The board provides counsel upon the strategic direction and long-term plans for the InfiLaw system of independent law schools and will assist in the establishment of best practices to the benefit of all of the law schools.
