Stories: Sister Monclin's rabbits

Displaying 1 - 1 of 1 -- Add Story

Sister Monclin's rabbits 02 Nov 2003
During the summer of 1974, we used to visit quite frequently Sister Monclin who had joined the Church during that year. She lived with her husband on a farm where sheep, ducks, and rabbits were the main products. It seems that they lived from month to month on what they made. Her husband had not joined the Church and still hasn't. Sister Monclin wanted to pay tithing but was told by her husband that they couldn't afford it. Sister Monclin then came up with an idea as to how she could pay tithing. She went to her husband and asked if she could have some of the weaker baby rabbits that normally would be destroyed since they would not bring in a good market price. She proposed that she would use the profits from these rabbits to pay her tithing. Her husband gave her the O.K. but he was quite skeptical. What he didn't realize was that every time Sister Monclin prayed for something, it seems that it was accorded to her. She approached Heavenly Father with the details of her plan then set about to take care of the weakest rabbits that she was allowed to keep and raise. Within a short period of time, the rabbits strengthened and actually became some of the best produers of the whole lot and brought in enough money for her to pay her tithing. The Lord does listen and will sustain in us in our righteous efforts.
