Rudolf Kurt Poecker, 83, former president of the Germany Dusseldorf Mission (1972-75) and former first counselor in the Frankfurt Germany Temple presidency (1988-90) died Jan. 8, 2003, at his home in Orem, Utah. Born Dec. 31, 1919, in Fraureuth, Greiz, Ghueringen, Germany, he joined the Church in 1940. Shortly after World War II, he served a mission in his native country and was instrumental in procuring vast genealogical records that had been stored in underground salt mines.
