I returned to Germany several times to do genealogical research, visiting with my mother's aunts, uncles and cousins each time. Ken and I went there most recently in 1996.
I am very grateful for the opportunity I had to serve a mission literally 'in the land of my forefathers'! A grandfather and a great grandfather both worked in Mannheim (my 5th area) and additional ancestors lived in Saarbrücken (my 2nd area), which I have discovered through genealogical research!
