I received an email expressing interest in sending a condolence card to Schw. Hundt's children, so here is the address of one of the daughters, for those who are interested:
Gisela Kunz
140 N. 3rd E.
Driggs, ID 83422
Rostockerstr. 57
29225 Celle
Germany
The second address is where Schw. Hundt lived, so it will probably be temporary at best.

I recieved the following postcard from Schw. Hundt's (Gemeinde Celle) daughter:
"We would like to notify you of the death of
our dear Mother Wanda Hundt on Feb. 22,
2006. My sister and I would like to thank you
for your love and kindness towards her. As you know, she loved the Missionare.
Fondly,
Erika Baldauf & Gisela Kunz, her daughters"
She was a wonderful woman who had such a love for the missionaries. I think she was 93 this year. She's left a great legacy, and touched so many hearts, I thought you all would like to know.

I'm so glad I finally got the address of this website!
It's great getting in contact with all of you "Hamburg Missionaries".
Hope you will have a great reunion in september! Too bad I won' t be able to come - Germany is just a little bit too far away.
Instead, I' m planning to visit Hamburg again this year and show my husband the places where I served.
Would be happy to hear from any of you who know me. :)

Pres. Dahlquist spoke this week (12/20/05) with Schw. Hundt of Celle. She has been diagnosed with liver cancer, which has begun to spread. She is in considerable pain. According to her daughter, the doctors have not told them how long Schw. Hundt has, but this would be her last Christmas. Pres. Dahlquist thought some of you would like to know. Please remember her and her family in your prayers.

Does anyone know where to get one of those lovely navy blue ties with the Hamburg logo on it? I had a couple on my mission, but somewhere along the past 22 years they vanished. I'd love to have one again.

I haven't seen Herbie since he was financial clerk in the office, but I can vouch for the statement that he was one of the "good guys." I'm sure that he has earned a comment from the Lord, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." If a family member sees this, please know that his memory is treasured even by one such as me who hasn't seen him for many many years.

Dr Herbert Ungricht passed May 17th in a tragic fire at his home in Sandy, Utah. He served in Germany North in the '72- '74 time area. The following is from his obituary. If you wish more info. go to www.desnews.com and look in Obituary area. You could also find newspaper articles with a simple search.
Lane Clark
After attending Skyline High School, Herb continued his education at the University of Utah graduating Magna Cum Laude, in Chemistry, at the age of 19. Herb served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Germany, Hamburg Mission. Shortly before Herb graduated from the University of Utah Medical School, he married his eternal companion, Yvonne Siepert, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 13, 1978. The next 26 years of his life were spent happily as a devoted, caring, and loving father of five daughters. As an active member of the church, Herb served faithfully in many callings. He especially found joy in his current calling as a Bishop. Herb was active in scouting and received the Silver Beaver award for his service.

I was the Elder that baptized Sister Kauke. I recieved an E-mail from Brother Kempski from the Hannover Gemeinde about 2 years ago. Sister Kauke passed away and brother Kauke was still active but was having health challenges of his own. That is the last that I heard. I believe brother Kempski monitors this web site and may be able to offer more info. I would also be interested. I believe Kerry Munson still has contact with Brother Kempski

She is also of Wedel and from the same era. Any news of Wedel would be appreciated.

I've gotten the Information I needed. Thank you to all those that sent it.

Has anyone had contact with one of the bigger stars to come out of the GHM? I'm talking about Steven Eckholdt who served around 80-82. He is most famous for being Rachel's boyfriend in "Friends" and he played the husband in the TV version of "My Big Fat Greek Life". He was in some other tawdry short-lived Fox show. He has been in several commercials including one for a car and another for beer. I first remember him in a Disney made-for-TV-movie in about 1988 about a kid who grew up over night and became the principal of his school. Isee him pop up on TV now and then and I didn't know if anyone knew anything more about him.
