I just got what looks to be a scam email about a long lost member from the Munich Mission who is supposedly stranded in Africa and needing money. It seems this person got my email from the mission website website. The only details they listed were that they were from a certain Gemeinde in the mission. I had posted a comment looking for information on this person on the mission website, and had listed the Gemeinde and my email in the post. So I think this may be a scam and someone is using this website to get email addresses. I am just wondering if anyone else got an email like this. Thanks. --Sara Wright

Anybody know where Elder James Lowrey might be? We were mitarbeiters in Crailsheim 1974. We trackted out a family that Christmas who later joined the Church and trying to find out about them.
Also, lost track of Elder Jeff Axson - was companions with him in Kitzingen in '75 - he was originally from Phoenix, AZ

My name is Jade Warren. My first area in the Munich Mission was Ludwigsburg back in winter of 1999 / 2000. Through my own negligence, I've lost contact w/several of the families there in the ward...I was wondering if--at the time you served in Ludwigsburg--you knew any of the following families:
Familie Just (used to live in Bietigheim/Bissingen)
Familie Bielitza (used to live in Bietigheim/Bissingen)
Schwester Kipparissis (Greek member who lived in Bietigheim)
If you have any information on these families, it'd be great if you could drop me a quick line...the e-mail address I have for the Justs is no longer valid, and I'd particularly like to get in contact w/them again.
Thanks again, and I hope you're having a great Christmas season!
Cheers,
(Elder) Jade E Warren

I am looking for information on the Kiefer family from the Waiblingen Gemeinde. Bruder Dieter Kiefer was the only active member in 2000, but we taught his daughter Yvonne. She had a baptism date, but her mother was against it. Does anyone have any information on how to get hold of either Brother Kiefer or Yvonne?

Those of you who served in Bayreuth will certainly remember Sister Ingrid Harburger Kempter. Sister Kempter passed away June 21st just eleven days short of her 86th birthday. From the time she joined the church in 1960 she has been a faithful, spiritual, stalwart, member to the Bayreuth branch. What a wonderful example of enduring to the end she has been to each of us who knew her.

Greetings All,
My wife and I just returned from having spent 7 days in Munich and Southern Germany. Went to one of the wards in the Rueckertstrasse 2 building, the one where Brother/Sister Wolfgang Gildner are. Sister Gildner didn't remember me and her husband vaguely recalled the name. Guess 30 years can do that.
It was amazing to see how much Munich has grown. But Marianplatz and the downtown area (I was in the Herrnstrasse wohnung) looked all the same and it was great to be able to visit it all.

Randy Smith checking in. I spent a Saturday in Munich while in Europe on business. Had a great time travelling the U Bahn and walking around some of the old places. Saw my first Wohnung on Habsburgerstrasse in Schwabing and many of the more obvious placesl like Marienplatz, Hauptbahnhof, the airport (or course), etc. I took a few pictures and am trying to post them on this site. My profile has the latest information on how we are doing. I also saw a really cool write up that Marc Schindler posted on the Internet about Sister Gertrud Specht. For those who were around Munich in the early1970's, she needs no introduction. You can find the post by Googling for Gertrud Specht. Really cool post by Marc. Hope you are all doing great.

I attended church last Sunday in Bayreuth with Sister Ingrid Kempter (formerly Harburger). She joined the church in 1960 when I was a missionary in Bayreuth. If any of you worked in Bayreuth and would like an update, please email me.
Herzlichen Dank!

Anyone serving in München will undoubtedly remember Paul Gildner who served the saints as Branch President in der Rückertstraße 2, and later as Stake Patriarch. Brother Gildner passed away April 2, 2004. He was in his 84th year. He will be remembered as one of the great men in the church in Germany.
