Miracle in Panzos 20 Dec 2002
Elder Wise and I had been teaching this Kekchi family (Nicolas and Sefraina) for several weeks. They lived on the other side of the Matanzas in La Tinta. They finally commited to baptism, but they had to get married first. They decided to get married and we agreed to help them. We travelled to Panzos only to find out, when we arrived, that the muni was closed for the holidays. They were disappointed b/c thay had planned the baptism for the same day after their marriage - it was going to be a great day for them. So we were waiting there in the centro when someone opened up the muni and walked in. We talked to the guy and found out that he's the asst. calde. After a some persuasion, he agreed to marry Nicolas & Sefraina. The whole ordeal took all morning and most of the afternoon, so we headed back to La Tinta and the family was baptised a few days latter. It was a neat little miracle in Panzos!
