Dear MHT missionaries,
For all of you who are asking and for those who aren’t, YES, we are planning on being in Utah again and holding a mission reunion on the BYU campus Friday, October 1 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Room 3252 of the ELWC (Ernest L. Wilkinson Center) which is the same building as last year but upstairs. You may find the reunion information at: newsnet.byu.edu ( Click on “Mission Reunions” under “Services”) or at deseretnews.com (click on “Missionary Reunions” under “LDS Church News”) We are also trying to get it on the www.mission.net website but we keep forgetting our username and password and are waiting to hear back from “Glen” the webmaster.
I just checked newsnet.byu.edu and deseretnews.com and they still don’t have the information up. Don’t know what’s wrong. Anyway here is the information:
Friday, October 1, 2004
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
BYU Ernest L Wikinson Center (ELWC-same building as last year but different room) Room 3252
Light dinner, mix and mingle. Bring photos to share and a notecard with your name, address, phone, and email address.
Actually, we just returned from Utah about two weeks ago. Our son, Matt, was married September 3 in the Logan Temple to Megan Garrett from Highland, Utah. Other news from the Northwest:
President Anderton has checked off another item from his list entitled “Things To Do Before I Die”. He just finished being in a movie. Radio Mechanics is a 20-minute digital video production directed by Jonathan Johnson and Preston Herrick. It tells the story of a talk-show radio host warned by a paranoid research scientist that an alien takeover is imminent. He then must take steps to save humanity. The trailer can be viewed at: radiomechanics.com No kidding! Click on “TRAILER” Yes, that is the President sleeping next to a woman in the photo next to “SMALL-Low resolution”! Click on “CAST” to see his picture and read his bio. Click on “BEHIND SCENES” for two photos of the Pres. Also, Pres. A just received his “Emergency Teaching Certificate” which will enable him to substitute teach at the local high school, middle school, and elementary school. The local ward members say that after one time, the kids will ask the teacher to be sick so “Mr. Anderton” can sub. If you heard about the forest fires last month in Wenatchee, we were on a Level 1 evacuation notice which means, “Think about what you want to take if you have to leave and get ready.” Pres. volunteered at the local Red Cross Evacuation Center.
Hna. Anderton was just released as Laurel advisor and has been called to serve as 2nd counselor in the Stake Young Women’s Presidency. We travel 90 miles to the furthest away branch. I told them it would bring back memories of Honduras except there won’t be donkeys in the middle of the road or kids on the shoulder selling a lizard three-pack or a trussed armadillo.
Katie changed from volleyball to soccer this year and is playing on the JV team. She regularly comes home with bruises and sore muscles. She already missed two games because of the wedding so now she has made the very difficult decision to stay in Wenatchee instead of coming to the reunion. She is so sad! We told her maybe after graduation in 2006. Katie just got asked to Homecoming (October 19) so we will bring her new, very modest dress we purchased in Utah, back home with us after conference.
Well, that’s it from Wenatchee.
Love,
The A’s
P.S. Pass the news on to those missionaries that you come in contact with please…..
