Can someone post some information about when Taylor served? His name sounds very familiar but I'm not sure if I served with him or not. In either event his family is in my thoughts a prayers. God bless.

Friends of Taylor,
I spoke with Taylor's dad this evening. He gave me the details on the
funeral and the viewings. I have a limited number of email addresses so
please share this information and future emails with anyone who you think
may be planning to attend the funeral. Here are the details:
* VIEWING Friday evening 6-8 pm:
Rosson Bros. Mortuary
295 No. Main St.
Bountiful, UT
(801)295-5505
(Call them for directions or use Mapquest)
* another VIEWING on Saturday morning 9:30-10:30 and the
FUNERAL Saturday 11 am will be held at:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
965 E. Oakwood Dr.
Bountiful, UT
Directions to the Church building:
Go north from Salt Lake City on I-15 about 8 miles or so. Exit Hwy 89.
This road will run parallel to the freeway. Go for about 2 more miles.
About 10 yards before the first stop light you will see a little road
called Eagle Ridge. Turn Right. Go about 5 or 6 miles on that road. (At
some point it will have become Bountiful Blvd). At about the 3000 South
Block you will reach Oakwood Dr. Turn left and go two blocks. The address
is 965 E. Oakwood Dr.
* There has been some discussion of plans for a less formal gathering as
well. I don't have details on this, but I will send the details out as
soon as I get them. Also, if you are someone organizing a gathering, let
me know and I will try to spread the information.
Take care,
- Mark Schlutsmeyer

Hi Everyone, hope this finds you all well. I just got off the phone with Matt Halverstadt. He passed along the news that Taylor Marshall passed away on Saturday October 2nd. Funeral Services are planned for October 9th and the viewing will be Friday October 8th. Matt should have more info and I will try to post what he tells me. The funeral will be in Bountiful. Marshall was a great missionary and a great person. He will be missed by many.

I've just learned I'm going to be in europe in October for work and might have a chance to extend and visit Hungary. I haven't been there since my mission ended in '96 and would love any tips on good places to stay, etc. Send me an email if you can help. Thanks in advance!

Is anyone interested in doing another music swap? Like last time we would have people who contribute new music send a CD with the new MP3s and $5 to me, I would collect all of the music, burn CD sets and send them back. The $5 is to cover the cost of CDs, burning, and mailing back. Anyone who wants a set but doesn't have anything to contribute would be able to get a whole set for $25. Of course all of the music from the first swap would be included.
|
| |
I'm still getting occasional emails asking me about the Hungarian music from the swap a year ago. All total we ended up with 6 CDs full of MP3s. I can still make copies and send them out. Anyone who wants a copy of the CDs please email me. I will send a you a complete set for $25. You can either mail me a check or send me money through paypal (email me first because my paypal uses a different email address)
The complete set includes 6 CDs (all about 600 MB), with 35 complete albums and several partial albums. There is music from Akos, Animal Cannibals, Brody Janos, Charlie, Des Laszlo, Disney, Edda, Emberek, Friderika, Geniusz, Illes, Kis Pal es a Borz, Koncz Zsuzsa, Kormoran, Locomotiv GT, Malek Andrea, Mester es Tanitvanyai, Muzsikas, Nyers, Omega, Szorenyi Levente, Tatrai Band, Tolcsvay, Republic, Zoran and more.

Sziasztok Kedves Barataim!
I recenlty posted a message asking for those of you who recently served in Dunaujvaros, Debrecent, Kis Pest, and Szekesfehervar to drop me a line so that I could ask you some questions about some of the members and investigators I knew back in 1995-97. I unfortunately had some computer problems, and as a result lost all of the emails that were sent to me. So I again ask any and all of you who were recently these cities to drop me a line again so that I can ask you some questions about some of our dear friends. I remember a former sister missionary telling me that she had just returned home from Debrecen in one of the emails, and I had some questions for her, as well as some members from Kis Pest, and others who had recenlty served or visited these cities and branches.
Anyway, I really appreciate all of the informaiton.
Sok Szeretettel,
Joseph Farnsworth

I was looking down at everyone who most recently left messages, there are very few of you who's names I recognize. My wife & I are doing well. We live about 20 miles north of Denver in a small town called Erie. Our third daughter Emma was born just before Christmas. I know God has a sense of humor, he gave me three daughters. I'd love to speak to anyone who may remember me. You can visit my family website at www.floodeen.com, all my contact info is there. Geza, are you still out there???

Its that time again. There will be an all presidents mission reunion on Friday April 2, 2004 from 7pm to 9pm. The location has yet to be determined. As soon as we know exactly where it will be at (either Provo or SLC) we will post this announcement under the reunion notice link. Look for it in a couple days, it will be there. You don't want to miss this opportunity to see everyone again. See you Friday.

This is probably only feasible for people in the eastern half of the US (unless you have more spare cash then I do). On April 2, 2004 Indiana University is hosting its annual Hungarian Symposium. Details below.
What: Gyorgy Ranki Hungarian Chair Symposium
Where: Indiana Memorial Union Frangipani Room; 900 East Seventh Street; Indiana University; Bloomington, Indiana
Theme: Imre Kertesz in Perspective: Hungarian and Jewish Culture in the 20th Century
For more information contact:
Indiana University Department of Central Eurasian Studies
Goodbody Hall 157
1011 East Third Street
Bloomington, Indiana 47405-7005
Phone: (812) 855-2233
Fax: (812) 855-7500
email: kniggle@indiana.edu (note: not my email address)
This is an annual event and they routinely send out a "call for papers" to be presented. So if you're the scholarly type and want to present next year you can contact the department.

Hey everyone! What's up? Most of you probably don't know me or even remember me, but I am interested in going either to Hungary or mostly anywhere in Europe this summer to work. So if anyone knows of any English teaching opportunities or any other sort of working opportunity in Hungary or elsewhere in Europe, your help would be MUCH appreciated. Please let me know: joshjohnson80@hotmail.com

Does anyone happen to know if the Mission home has an email address, and if so, what that is?

Sziasztok barataim!!
I just got an email from Szabo Tibi, who's the current branch president in Szekesfehervar. Unfortunately, the news he sent me was pretty sad. A lot of the members that I knew when I served there as branch president in 96 are now struggling with their faith and tesimony. I am writing this message to make two requests.
The first is that I would love more information about Szekes as well as Duna, Kis Pest, and Debrecen from those of you who have recently come home, or from those of you with whom I served who have been back to visit recently (sajnos, I haven't been back to Magyarorszag since I came home in Jan 97).
The second request is for all of us (myself included) to write to our Magyar baratok to hopefully help strengthen their testimonies. I would also love any suggestions from those of you who've had success in writing members and helping them to "come back."
Anyway, life's good out here in Eugene, Oregon. I'm probably going to graduate in December (if all goes according to plan) from law school out here, and would love any leads from those of you who know attorneys here in the Western US for a job.
Most of all, I'd love to hear from all of you with whom I had the privilege or serving.
Sok Szeretettel, Jozsi Bacsi :)
