Many of you probably received this letter from the Italian Missionary Association announcing the 1996 reunion.
Dear Former Missionary:
Another year has passed and this letter is to advise you of the upcoming All Italy Missions Reunion to be held in conjunction with April General Conference at 7:00 pm on Friday, 5 April 1996, at the LDS Chapel at 680 East 2nd Ave. in Salt Lake City. This location is closer to South Temple St. but is further east than the old chapel. (It is between 'J' and 'K' Streets and 1st and 2nd Avenues.) PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A NEW LOCATION. Once again, this reunion is for those who have served in any Italian mission. It seems to get better every year. If you know of any former missionaries who aren't receiving our mailings, ask them to write to us and we'll include them in the future.
For those who weren't there last year, hundreds of former missionaries and all available former mission presidents were in attendance. The presidents have in fact felt so strongly about this reunion that they have all decided to eliminate any conflicting meetings on this night.
The reunion will again consist of two parts: (1) a general meeting, and (2) individual meetings by mission consisting of the former missionaries and where possible their mission president. And, of course, refreshments will be served.
We hope that in the future as a result of your contributions, we will be able to help the work move along even more. All this has been possible because of the number of former missionaries willing to send $5 or more each year (which is tax deductible, of course!). It continues to be hoped that this small amount will in no way cause anyone to feel pressured to contribute beyond their means. It has been asked if someone cannot currently contribute can they still stay on the invitation mailing list. The answer is yes! We only desire that you forward your address to us as we only send to those we hear from on a regular basis. Enclosed you will also find more details from the last reunion.
Due to the large numbers expected again, we prefer that you send your suggested contribution of $5 or more as soon as possible to the address below, with your updated address information. This will dramatically speed up the registration process and will make available some contribution information on the night of the reunion.
We know you'll really enjoy seeing old friends and hearing about the progress of the Lord's work in Italy.
