I haven't kept in touch, but I hope no one will be offended by that. As the Africans used to say: "la silence n'est pas un oublie." I'll never forget you, and Africa, and the things that happened there. Some part of me still exists there.

We were a small, close-knit mission back when everything started in 1993, and from what I can see here, that feeling continues. To serve in the Ivory Coast was a rare opportunity.
Even now, I'll sometimes fill a frying pan with way too much oil, put the burners on "high," and violently fry an omelette, African style.
