In Abidjan for a month now. The place is gate de! It's looking less like Abidjan and more like Lagos. We're hoping after the elections that the politicians will start doing stuff - any kind of progress will be welcomed.
I will be an election observer so I may finally see the Ivory Coast outside of the Abidjan, Yakro, Bouake corridor.
For those that wondered and for the new missionaries... people actually do believe what you taught them and there are still some that stay faithful and keep coming to worship the One True God and his Only Begotten. I get all choked up at Church, in an actually chapel, in an actual ward, where they don't need me to have two callings just to keep things running (in Belgium I had two callings) but here things seem to be running just fine. So many seeds that have grown into big-ole baobab trees!
We have an extra bed or two and plenty of floor space with eau bien glace, if that's not enough enticement - air conditioning and hot water! Soyez les bien venus. |
