The center has a capacity for 104 missionaries. Missionaries stay at the center for 19 days.
There are 48 elders and seven sister missionaries from nine countries. These missionaries will serve in the two missions in Ghana, the five missions in Nigeria and in the missions in Ivory Coast, DR Congo and Madagascar.
The majority of the missionaries are from Nigeria. Others are from the United States, Liberia, Botswana, Kenya, Uganda and South Africa.
Many of these missionaries are the only members of the Church in their families. Some have been a member for only a year while others are lifetime members. This particular group of missionaries is called to be English-speaking missionaries, but missionaries called to French-speaking African countries also attend the Missionary Training Center in West Africa.
The daily activities are similar to those in any of the 16 international training centers, with Preach My Gospel being the focus of the training. They also have the opportunity to attend the Accra Ghana Temple.
A group of missionaries, sitting in an MTC class in Ghana, will serve in various missions throughout Africa.
