In May 2007, the number of church members in the country just surpassed 12, 000.
There are 91 missionaries serving at this time, all are from Africa. 12 of them are Sister missionaries.
New areas opening up to missionaries are Divo and San Pedro. yamassoukro now has 2 branches, as well as a branch in Grand Bassam. There are 3 Stakes.
The Church recently sent their security team to the Ivory Coast to assess the safety situation. President Ounleu said that he is very hopeful that they would be receiving 2 couples soon and that American's may soon be able to return to serve there.
Togo and Benin are currently under the Cape Coast Mission now, but soon might be coming back.
