Ensign, Horace Samuel, a member of the General Board of Y. M. M. I. A., and assistant musical director of that organization from 1899 to 1909, was born Nov. 10, 1871, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Horace Sobeski Ensign and Martha Triplet. He was baptized Nov. 18, 1879, ordained a Seventy June 2, 1897, by Jonathan G. Kimball, and filled a mission to Colorado in 1897-1899. He also filled a mission to Japan in 1901-1905. For many years he was a member of the Tabernacle Choir and made several trips with that organization as a soloist. Later he made his home in Wichita, Kansas, where he still resided in 1936.
