Ivins, Heber Grant, president of the Japan Mission from 1912 to 1915, was born Sept. 2, 1889, in St. George, Utah, a son of Anthony W. Ivins and Elizabeth Snow. He was baptized when eight years old, was set apart Oct. 28, 1910, for a mission to Japan, and presided over the Japan Mission from Oct. 24, 1912, to July 24, 1915. He returned to his home in Utah Aug. 21, 1915.
