After 15 years of temporary addresses we joyously proclaim our permanent location!

We were loathed to leave our grandchildren in Lafayette, California but we are enjoying those who live here. The surrounding desert is decidedly different from tropical Hawaii, but the dry climate and heat seem to suit us fine. In fact the bright sun is keeping our daily outlook more cheerful and positive. During the heat of summer or the chill of
winter we retreat into the comfort of our small home. By the way, you are welcome to come and marvel at our roses--lavender, pink, red, and yellow--blooms-six inches plus across--here in the desert, yet!

Before our move we attended funeral services for Esther's father that passed away at ninety nine. He was in good health. After eating two dinners one evening, he went to bed. Early the next morning he woke up in the 'next room.' Evan gave the eulogy both in Japanese and English. The Japanese minister also had him dedicate the grave. Esther's mother at age ninety seven is still in good health, although her memory is getting shorter and shorter.

Because of the events of September 11 and the ensuing war, Christmas has become more meaningful. Peace on Earth seems out of reach. But we do hope that you and your family will experience the peace that comes with faith in God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ.

We send our love and prayers to you and your families everywhere. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
