Served: 1974 - 1976 | Language(s) spoken:Japanese | Areas Served: Takamatsu, Uwajima, Kobe, Suita, Okayama, Kurashiki, Himeiji, Yao | Your Occupation: Sr. Technical Program Mgr | Spouse: Winnie Faye Ray | Comments: After working over 2 decades with FedEx and transportation as Worldwide Automation Director and taking early retirement, I landed my dream job.....The Church! I am a Sr. Technical Program Mgr with Enterprise Content Management in the ICS Department. Boy how time flys! I remember joining the church at 18 in Gulfport, Ms, getting my mission call within the next year to the Japan Central Mission, and flying to Utah and as they say, Brigham build it well.....and even today remembering LeGrande Richards speaking to us in the old Missionary Building which is now an Administration Building. My wife, Winnie Faye and I were married in the Washington DC Temple, and we have 7 children. Two Boys went on missions to Texas and Russia, all 4 played college baseball, and the girls have become a nurse, and homemaker and our baby is 16 and she is a soph. in high school. We have not been without trials as members of our family have strayed with substance abuse, but with the power of scriptures and prayer, been able to bring them back. I think of Japan often and love my experiences there and it has been a solid influence in my life.....for good! I have seen the power of the gospel work in many lives and the same formula that we used as missionaries works in our own lives as well. Peace be with you all! Jim Ray |
