Comments:
After returning home in 1976, I continued on at BYU majoring in accounting. I met Mischel in the summer of 1978, I finished my courses in June of 1979, we were married at the end of June, and I started the masters accounting program at BYU in September. After being accepted into BYU’s law school, I finished up my master’s, took and passed the CPA exam and became a CPA while finishing up law school. I graduated in 1983, wow, thirty years ago, how quickly they pass.

In the 30 years we have had four children, all sons. The oldest lives close and is a web developer, the second is just finishing up medical school and will do a residency in pediatric cardiology (his goal since he was 7), the next is at Utah Valley University majoring in math, and our 6’2” “baby” is a junior at Timpview High School, and has 1 merit badge left to have earned all 133 BSA merit badges.

Mischel is a sweetheart and loves to serve the Lord. She has served as president and in presidencies of Relief Society, YW and Primary. I obviously married above myself. I have been able to serve with the YW, Sunday School, a BYU bishopric and am currently on a YSA stake high council (serving with my younger brother and that is fun).

My mission was a great time in my life and trying to learn Japanese has been one of the biggest challenges that I have had to face. I loved teaching the gospel, but the language barrier was always such a challenge, and I am not sure about all of you, but I generally felt totally inadequate. Since returning home I have realized that the Lord gives us the challenges that he wants us to meet and is there by our side to help us succeed. God lives, the Lord loves us and wants us to return. To all of you who may know me, know that I have a deep and sincere testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and hope to be able to successfully serve him and endure to the end, and that we may all meet again one day, whether down here or up there, sharing the joy that can be ours by following our Savior.
