Comments: Five days after returning home, Fred asked me to marry him and four months later we were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. We have nine children, five boys and four girls. Seven lived to adulthood and so far we have thirteen grandchildren. In 1998 I found out I had a benign brain tumor that was the size of an egg. It was taking away my ability to use my left side so surgery was recommended with a 50/50 chance of surviving. I am doing very well now with only a slight weakness on my left side --I try to hide the zig zag scar on my head with my hair :D My main calling has been to play the organ in Sacrament Meeting (which I quickly learned when the ward was divided and there were no organ players!) I have been in Primary, Young Women Presidency and as a Relief Society President. Currently Fred and I help with a handicap nineteen year old boy for 2 hours after Sacrament Meeting so his parents can enjoy church. He is mentally a 2 or 3 year old so we play with toys and help him look at "church pictures" for our time with him. <3 I have been true to my testimony and love of the gospel of Jesus Christ <3 With fond memories of the Japan Kobe Mission, I think often of all of you who crossed my path--Love to you all :) |
